The 2010 (D) Satin Finish Presidential Dollar - Abraham Lincoln, Position A is a special strike dollar struck at the Denver Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 583,897 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 40 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The sixteenth President (1861–1865), Abraham Lincoln preserved the Union during the Civil War and issued the Emancipation Proclamation that began the end of slavery in America. The most depicted president in U.S. numismatics, Lincoln has appeared on the cent since 1909. Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, and Lincoln were honored. The Lincoln dollar drew strong collector interest due to the president's enduring popularity, but overall circulation demand continued to decline.
