2009 (P) Northern Mariana Islands Satin Finish Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2009-P SF MP WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2009-P satin finish Northern Mariana Islands quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling shows at the right palm leaf's tip, on the large palm tree right of the latte, SSW of the larger white fairy tern's lower wing tip. Obverse markers: a gouge north of the R of QUARTER; a crack through the upper part of the designer's initials; on the front tip of the bust's base, a pre-die crack depression; and a crack heading NE from the eyebrow. Reverse markers: a gouge south of the third A of MARIANA; a crack running ENE from the sail's top back tip; and a dot (small round gouge) up between the 2 and 0 of 2009, at their tops. James Windsor submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
