The 2008 (P) Satin Finish Presidential Dollar - Andrew Jackson, Position B is a special strike dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 745,464 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 44 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The seventh President (1829–1837), Andrew Jackson was a populist war hero celebrated for his victory at the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. Ironically, Jackson was a fierce opponent of paper currency and central banking, yet his image appeared on the $20 bill for decades. The second year honored Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Jackson, and Van Buren. Mounting complaints about edge lettering legibility led Congress to move "In God We Trust" to the obverse starting in 2009.
