About This Coin
The 2007 Sacagawea Dollar is a United States dollar from the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series — 8th of 27 years in the series. In 2007, coins were struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints with a combined mintage of 11.9 million. This ranks 14th of 25 years by total mintage, above the series median of 10.8 million. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The reverse depicts a soaring bald eagle encircled by 17 stars. This original Sacagawea dollar design was used from 2000 through 2008. Production continued for collector products as the Presidential Dollar absorbed the circulating dollar coin role. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Collectors have identified one known die variety for this date (doubled die reverse). Across its variants, estimated values range from $1 to $7 depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $5.0K in PR69DCAM grade at eBay. Designed by Glenna Goodacre/Thomas D. Rogers Sr..
