Description
The 2007 (P) Satin Finish Sacagawea Dollar is a special strike dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 895,628 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 5 mint variants, representing only 8% of total production. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The reverse depicts a soaring bald eagle encircled by 17 stars. This original Sacagawea dollar design was used from 2000 through 2008. Production continued for collector products as the Presidential Dollar absorbed the circulating dollar coin role. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Auction record: $630 SP69 03-25-2020 Stack's Bowers. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #149563.
