In 2002, coins were struck at the Denver, San Francisco, and Philadelphia Mints with a combined mintage of 10.8 million. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States.
