The 2007 (P) Satin Finish Presidential Dollar - George Washington, Position A is a special strike dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 847,361 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 41 mint variants, representing only less than 1% of total production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The first President of the United States (1789β1797), George Washington served as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and established many precedents for the office, including the tradition of a two-term limit. Often called the "Father of His Country," his likeness has appeared on more U.S. coins than any other president. Inaugural year of the Presidential Dollar Program, honoring Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The "Godless Dollar" error β coins struck without the edge-incused motto IN GOD WE TRUST β generated national headlines and collector frenzy.
