2007 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005
Error
Description
Doubling on the left side of the seventh column to the right of the statue's left knee distinguishes this 2007 Lincoln Memorial cent reverse variety. Cataloged as WDDR-005 by the Wexler Team, the obverse die carries a die chip atop the second zero in the date along with a die crack running from the west-northwest to east-southeast through the hair on the upper back of Lincoln's head. The reverse presents its own progressive die deterioration: a pre-die-break depression centered on the E in ONE and a light die crack descending the left side of the C in CENT. These multiple markers across both sides make WDDR-005 one of the more readily attributable doubled dies in the 2007 Memorial cent series, offering collectors several confirming diagnostics beyond the primary doubling on the Memorial columns. Reverse: A pre-die break depression can be found on the center of the E in ONE.
