The 2007 Jamestown 400th Anniversary Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a United States five-dollar gold coin from the Modern Commemorative Five Dollar Gold (1984-Date) series. In 2007 the West Point Mint struck 18,843 uncirculated and 47,050 proof Jamestown five-dollar gold coins, 65,893 in all. The obverse features Captain John Smith meeting an American Indian carrying a bag of corn, and the reverse displays the Jamestown Memorial Church. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
