Description

VarietyVista lists this 2005 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial cent as UVC-3184 / DMR-035, a doubled die reverse with medium spread to the east manifesting as an extra column #6 from the hand to the foot. The hand-to-foot extent indicates near-full-column doubling, spanning most of column #6's visible height on the left side of the seated Lincoln statue. This eastward shift places the ghost column in a position that can overlap slightly with the statue's left arm, making careful examination necessary to separate the doubled column from adjacent design elements. Confirmed at Early Die State (Stage A), the secondary image should display clean edges without the softening associated with later die states. Column #6 hand-to-foot doubling represents one of the more extensive varieties within the 2005 DDR census, as the wide vertical coverage makes it easier to detect than partial-column types. The 2005 date falls in the final years of Gasparro's Memorial reverse, which would be replaced by four rotating designs in 2009 for the Lincoln Bicentennial before the Shield reverse debuted in 2010.
