Description
The 2005 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Satin Finish is a special strike cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. With a mintage of 1.2 million, this is an extremely rare issue — the lowest mintage among 3 mint variants, representing only 20% of total production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Satin Finish Mint Set cents were introduced this year, replacing the traditional brilliant uncirculated finish in mint sets. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Auction record: $25 SP68BN 04-03-2019 eBay. Struck in copper-plated zinc, weighing 2.5 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #93188.
