Description

Carrying VarietyVista designations UVC-2898 / DMR-029, the 2004 DDR-026 Lincoln Memorial cent from Philadelphia presents medium spread to the west as an extra column #7 visible from the face to the knee of the Lincoln statue. This upper-to-mid range of doubling captures the portion of column #7 that frames Lincoln's profile and torso but fades before reaching the lower legs, distinguishing it from hand-to-foot or knee-to-foot varieties on the same column. Confirmed at Early Die State (Stage A), this die was cataloged before wear could diminish the secondary column image. The face-to-knee span indicates a moderate hub displacement — enough to register across approximately two-thirds of the visible column height. Philadelphia produced roughly 3.38 billion cents in 2004, continuing the massive output that characterized the Memorial series' final years. Among the multiple 2004 DDRs affecting column #7, the specific vertical extent of doubling serves as the primary differentiator, with DDR-026's face-to-knee range sitting between the shorter and longer varieties.
