2004 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-008

Description

2004 WDDO-008 is a doubled die obverse on the 2004 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Extra thickness shows on the date, on the lettering of LIBERTY and on the lower beard and hair details. Notches appear on the lower left of TY in LIBERTY and, on the T, along the lower part of its upper left. On the obverse, a gouge (dot) lies well below the two zeros of the date, between them, and another gouge sits between the B and E of LIBERTY. On the reverse, a gouge is close to the middle of the D in UNITED; a gouge lies left of the base of the second U in PLURIBUS; a gouge (dot) sits at the angle inside the top of the N in ONE; and a scratch heads SW from near the top of the second column.
