The 2002 West Point Bicentennial Commemorative Dollar is a United States dollar from the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. In 2002, the West Point Mint struck 391,494 of these dollars, uncirculated and proof together, by the Mint's figures. The obverse shows a cadet color guard before Washington Hall and the Cadet Chapel and the reverse the academy's bicentennial emblem. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by T. James Ferrell/John Mercanti.
