Medium spread toward the East creating an extra column number 6 from hand to ankle and an extra knee between the knees of the Lincoln statue within the Memorial — DDR-022 on the 2001 Lincoln Memorial Cent adds to the extensive DDR catalog for this high-production date. VarietyVista assigned UVC-3267 and DMR-024, documenting three stages: Stage A with both reverse and obverse at Early-to-Mid Die State, Stage B at Mid Die State (unconfirmed), and Stage C at Late Die State (unconfirmed). The eastward spread direction creates a phantom column and knee displaced to the right of their primary positions, a diagnostic that becomes apparent when comparing the statue area against specimens from non-doubled dies. Philadelphia's 2001 cent production of approximately 4.96 billion pieces consumed an extraordinary number of working dies, each presenting an opportunity for the hub misalignment that generates DDR varieties. Column 6 from hand to ankle — describing the span of the ghost image — traverses the statue's midsection where the seated Lincoln figure is visible through the colonnade, and the extra knee between the existing knees demonstrates how figure elements at the statue's lower portion also captured the hub displacement.
