2001 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-2001-01

Description

ADC-1c-2001-01 is an atypical die clash on a broadstruck 2001 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. It shows clashed elements not normally seen in clashes of this kind. Whether the fault that caused the broadstrike was tied to the clash is not known. On the obverse, bays 10 and 11 and bays 1, 2 and 3 left marks, each set with the Memorial base line. On the reverse, parts of Lincoln's jacket and vest clashed into EPU of the motto, and Lincoln's eye, the area behind the eye and part of the ear show along with the bust outline; the ear and eye socket are the elements not usually seen.
