2000 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-012

Description

2000 WDDR-012 is a doubled die reverse on the 2000 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling appears along the lower left edge of the seventh Memorial column, right of the statue's legs. Obverse markers: a chip inside the lower part of the 2; a gouge above the I in LIBERTY; several gouges under the B of LIBERTY on its left side; a gouge on the leftmost fold of Lincoln's jacket at the shoulder; and a gouge above the V of VDB. Reverse markers: a crack linking the left cornice with the T in UNITED; a gouge right of the lower part of that T; a scratch reaching the top of that same T from the left roof; a die break at the first column's upper left; a crack along the second column's left side; two gouges above and outside the left and right sides of the E in E PLURIBUS; a small gouge beside the right Memorial base on its right; a small gouge under the N of ONE, below the left side of its left upright; and a gouge against the T in CENT at its lower right. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes that this is a replacement listing: the original entry under this number was a "wavy steps" variety, and such pieces are no longer considered doubled dies.
