Description

Doubling shows on the right side of both of the statue’s legs. Die Markers: Obverse: A diagonal die scratch runs from the top of the 2 to the middle of the first 0 of the date. A die gouge can be found above and between I and N in IN. A die gouge can be found just on the jacket well south of the left side of the button hole. Reverse: A die gouge can be found running to the rim from the top of the right side of the left upright of the N of UNITED. A die gouge can be found below the right side of the F in OF. A die gouge can be found below the right side of the first A in AMERICA. A small group of die gouges can be found well below the middle of the M of AMERICA. Die gouges can be found left and right of the I, touching the bottom right side of the B, and inside, above, and below the second U in PLURIBUS. Two small die gouges can be found to the right of the lower T in CENT. A small die gouge can be found to the right of the lower N in CENT.
