Description

Distinguished from the companion 2000 DDR-004 by both spread direction and affected area, the VarietyVista-cataloged 2000 Lincoln Memorial Cent DDR-019 exhibits a medium spread to the west creating an extra column at position number 7 in the knee-to-foot zone of the seated Lincoln statue. Where DDR-004 shows a northeast spread producing an extra right knee, DDR-019 shifts westward at column 7 from knee to foot — different direction, different column, different vertical zone, yet both share the same RDV-007 reverse die variety designation. The medium intensity makes DDR-019 slightly more visible than DDR-004's light spread. Die markers UVC-3239 and DMR-021 identify this specific working die across three documented stages: Stage A with the reverse in early die state and the obverse in mid-die state, Stage B tentatively in mid-die state (unconfirmed), and Stage C tentatively in late die state (unconfirmed). The high DMR-021 die marker number reflects extensive cataloging of 2000-P Lincoln cent working dies. Frank Gasparro's Lincoln Memorial reverse, with its twelve columns of fine architectural detail, serves as an excellent canvas for column-based doubling diagnostics. This Philadelphia Mint regular strike was produced in copper-plated zinc. Examine column 7 at the knee-to-foot level for the medium-intensity westward ghost column.
