Description

Spanning the mid-to-upper zone of the Lincoln Memorial's colonnade, the 2000 Lincoln Memorial Cent DDR-010 exhibits a medium westward spread creating an extra double column at position number 7, visible from the seated Lincoln statue's hand down to the foot. This hand-to-foot zone covers a substantial vertical range on the column, placing the ghost column diagnostic across the midsection of the Memorial's architectural detail. The westward displacement shifted the secondary hub impression to create an architectural echo alongside column 7 — a hallmark of the RDV-007 reverse die variety that produced multiple DDR listings across the late Memorial cent series. Die markers UVC-2979 and DMR-012 identify this working die across three documented stages: Stage A with both reverse and obverse in early die state, Stage B tentatively in mid-die state (unconfirmed), and Stage C tentatively in late die state (unconfirmed). Cataloged by VarietyVista, this Philadelphia Mint regular strike was produced in copper-plated zinc. The 2000 date yielded numerous column #7 DDR varieties on RDV-007 reverses, each differentiated by the vertical zone where the ghost column is most apparent. Examine column 7 under moderate magnification from the statue's hand to the foot area for the medium-intensity westward ghost column.
