Description

ADC-1c-2000-01 This 2000P Lincoln cent seemed to be an odd year for this denomination and the die clash found on this coin follows in the oddities footsteps. The overlay shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash. There is a 2° tilt to the die clash. This coin is courtesy of Mike Diamond. The photo to the left shows the first U of UNUM clashed just above the shoulder fold of Lincoln’s jacket. The photo to the left shows the classic “prisoner” affect caused by the columns and bays of the reverse. Strong clash marks left by Lincoln’s ear and portion of the beard are seen just below the Memorial building stairs, while the forehead of Lincoln can be seen clashed over the N of CENT. Various fold marks can be seen in the picture to the left as they criss-cross the word UNUM. Also notice the clash mark above the statue of Lincoln left by Lincoln’s jacket collar.
