1999 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-002
Error
Description
Light spread and extra thickness on the left four stars, mintmark, and left collar of the 1999 Susan B. Anthony Dollar. Die tracking: UVC-019, DMR-004. Stage A: obverse and reverse are EDS. Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed). Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). The 1999 SBA Dollar was a brief revival run driven by vending machine industry demand after the original 1979-1981 series, making DDOs from this date relatively scarce. Frank Gasparro's obverse portrait surrounded by thirteen stars provides multiple diagnostic surfaces. Cataloged by VarietyVista for the Susan B. Anthony Dollar series.
