1999 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-025

Description

1999-D WDDR-025 is a doubled die reverse on the 1999-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the seventh column, right of the statue, an extended bar starts below the shoulder and ends at the upper base. On the obverse, small die gouges (dots) appear under the upper tail of the date's 9, along the lower left edge of the mint mark, right of the N in IN, along the O in GOD on its right edge, and in the upper beard right of the lower ear. On the reverse, a gouge sits beside column 7 on its right, at the height of the statue's feet. Dots appear along the right edge of column 9 and left of the first dot. Gouges show under the L, U and I of PLURIBUS, and another is above the left side of the Memorial roof. More dots lie beneath the first T of STATES and beneath the right Memorial base. John Shields submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 3-R-VIII.
