Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1998 1-cent WDDR-012, this Lincoln Memorial Cent carries hub marker diagnostics: the hub marker above N in UNUM is visible, but the markers at the top of memorial bays 7 and 8 are not visible, and the roof hub markers are also not visible. These observations distinguish this variety from other 1998 DDR dies by documenting which reference points from the hub transfer are present or absent on this working die — a nuanced attribution technique relying on microscopic features.
