1996 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

1996 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1996 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a close spread, visible on the Memorial's lower left, on ONE CENT, along the whole right side of the Memorial, on the last two columns and on FG, and as a notch at the lower right of the first A in AMERICA. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, a die crack crosses the roof over the last five columns, passes through the C in AMERICA and continues to the rim. Another die crack sits at the top of the ninth column. A small gouge (dot) is in the upper left of the second bay, and a gouge lies at the rim left of the left Memorial base. Billy G. Crawford submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
