Description

1996 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1996 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The spread is extremely close. It shows as notches on the lower letters of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, on some upper letters of ONE CENT and on the lower letters of E PLURIBUS UNUM, and as light extra thickness on the designer's initials. On the obverse, the field around the date is pitted. On the reverse, small gouges lie under the T in UNITED, and feeder finger gouges cross the O in ONE. Jennifer Casazza submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
