1993 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-1993-02

Description

ADC-1c-1993-02 is an atypical die clash on a 1993-P Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, with at least two clashes and a fairly large die break. Whether the clashes and the break happened together is uncertain, but they may date from the same period, and two sets of clash marks lie near the break. If the scrape marks show how the planchet moved between strikes, both clashes may have come after the break. MDC's overlays show the dies offset between the first and second clash; the two sets can be told apart in the marks from the back of Lincoln's head. The first clash also left marks from NE of ONE above Lincoln's head. The coin, graded MS65 by NGC, is in Michael Evanchik's collection.
