1990 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-010

Description

1990 WDDR-010 is a doubled die reverse on the 1990 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Extra columns appear in the ninth and tenth Memorial bays. On the obverse, a gouge lies left of the middle of the I in IN, and a short gouge juts from the rim in the gap between the I and N of IN. In the date, a gouge sits above the second 9, and another just SW of it. On the reverse, a scratch runs SW off the upper left of the first S in STATES. Right of the lower T in CENT, several scratches run west to east, and strong die pitting appears beside the lower T on its right and between the bottoms of the N and T in CENT. Many scratches running WSW to ENE cut across the steps and the Memorial's right base. Louis Schaeffer submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDR-005, and its Coppercoins number is 1990P-1DR-001. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
