1989 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

1989 WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1989 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the rim shows clearly on E PLURIBUS UNUM and the dots, on the lower letters of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, on the upper letters of ONE CENT (above all the NT of CENT) and on the designer's initials, with a slight showing on the shrubbery either side of the steps. On the obverse, light scratches run NNE off the upper LIB of LIBERTY, and a light NW/SE scratch crosses the upper loop of the second 9 in the date. On the reverse, a small gouge sits above the tip of the right cornice, and die cracks run down the first and second Memorial columns. John A. Conway submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
