Description
ADC-1c-1987-01 This is a strong dual event die clash. There is a notable shift in position of the dies between each of the clash events. This clashed die is in the private collection of Joe Koelling. The partial letters from the word ONE can be seen clashed into the field above Lincoln’s head. Also see are two lines from the Memorial building roof clashed into the field below the word IN. Notice that both the clash events are rotated approximately 7° from the actual strike. The image above shows the dual lines from the Memorial building roof and the bays. The image to the left shows the two clash events and the marks left by the back of Lincoln’s head. Also seen are the clash marks left by the font of Lincoln’s head
