Description

First documented reverse cud on the 1984 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime, this variety formed when a section of the reverse die rim fractured and separated during production. The broken fragment left a cavity that filled with metal under tremendous striking pressure, producing a raised featureless area on every coin struck after the fracture.
