1984 (P) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-009

Description

1984 WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1984 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date and TRUST show extra thickness along with separation lines, all spread toward the center. On the obverse, a scratch curves from west to ENE through the tops of the date's digits, and another runs WNW to ESE under the date. Right of the nose, a heavy scratch runs WNW to ESE, and many other scratches cover the obverse. On the reverse, traces of a die clash show in bays 8 and 9 and over the roof's right end. Several scratches run NW from the base of the first column toward UNITED's N. Above the right cornice, a scratch heads SW from the upper right of the Memorial roof, and over the O of OF a scratch runs WSW to ENE. Joseph Koelling submitted the variety. Crawford lists it as CDDO-007, and its Coppercoins number is 1984P-1DO-006.
