Description
The 1975 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1975 Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Cross-referenced as CONECA: 2-O-IV Comments: This variety first appeared in the 1984 book The Lincoln Cent Doubled Die (Page 204) and was originally reported by Ed Raser. In that reference it was listed as 1975 1¢ 2-O-III. Doubling can be seen on the right side of the 1 and on the top right of the upper left loop of the 9. The arrow points to a die scratch that serves as one of the key; Wexler Variety ID: 1975 1¢ WDDO-001.
