Description
The 1971-S Proof Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1971 (S) Proof Lincoln Memorial Cent, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Die markers: Obverse: The mint mark is an RPM (S/S North) listed in the Wexler RPM Files as WRPM-005 (CONECA RPM #3). Reverse: A small die gouge can be found to the right of the bottom of the 2nd S in STATES.
