1970 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Large Date - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

This 1970-S Lincoln Memorial Cent (Large Date) doubled die obverse, WDDO-001, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com). A very strong Class I clockwise spread shows on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and the date. Obverse die markers include numerous SW-to-NE die scratches through and between WE and TRUST, a vertical die scratch above the E in LIBERTY, a die scratch running NE from the mint mark through the 7 and the first zero, and a north-south die scratch below the chin. Reverse markers include a die scratch running SE from the second T in STATES to the first U in PLURIBUS and a die gouge left of the bottom of the T in CENT. Submitted by Joseph Koelling.
