Description
1969-S WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 1969-S proof Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A tripled Class II spread toward the center appears on USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA), HALF DOLLAR, every star in the circle and every star above E PLURIBUS UNUM (EPU), with a slight spread on the 4 stars that sit behind the eagle's head. Each spread is strongest at 12:00 and weakest at 6:00. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, the second T in STATES has a gouge beneath its upper left; the first L in DOLLAR has short vertical gouges just above its base; and from the upper left of the D in UNITED a scratch heads WNW. Jennifer Casazza submitted the variety, and CONECA lists it as 3-R-II.
