Description

The 1964-D Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-010 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1964 (D) Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: Obverse: Stage A:  Very late die state with numerous die scratches between L and I of LIBERTY. Stage B:  New EDS obverse. Reverse: Stage A:  Die gouge (dot) left of upper portion of first U of PLURIBUS; die gouge (dot) below and between second U and S of PLURIBUS.Stage B:  Heavily abraded.  Lower portion of letters of AMERICA weak or missing; die clash mark through second O of MONTICELLO.
