1964 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-005

Description

1964-D WDDR-005 is a doubled die reverse on the 1964-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center appears on E PLU, NUM of UNUM, ONE DIME and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The obverse has a Blunt Tail 9 and a nearly horizontal scratch over IN; Wexler attributes many other scratches across the obverse to heavy abrading of the die. On the reverse, a gouge lies right of the top of UNITED's T, another sits inside the upper part of ONE's N, and a scratch runs ENE through the upper parts of NUM in UNUM. Frank Baumann submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
