1962 Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-024

Description

1962 WDDO-024 is a doubled die obverse on the 1962 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. An extra eyelid lies below the normal one, and doubling also shows on the L of LIBERTY, at the top of its vertical bar, and on the second T in TRUST at the top right. On the obverse, several scratches go ESE from the chin, and many N/S scratches run on both sides of the bust. On the reverse, a strong gouge extends from the fifth Memorial column at its lower left. There are gouges low in the second bay and in the middle of the third bay, plus one over the left cornice and one over the roof's left end. Frank Baumann submitted the variety, and Brian Ribar upgraded it. Wexler lists no cross-references.
