The working hub serves as the mother tool from which multiple working dies are born, and when the master die impresses the hub blank with a slight rotational or lateral shift on a subsequent pass, the resulting doubled image becomes encoded into every die subsequently produced from that hub. This multiplicative propagation means that coins from multiple different working dies — each sunk from WWHR-003 — could all display identical doubling characteristics, a diagnostic clue that distinguishes hub doubling from die doubling on examination.
