1960 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-010

Description

Struck as a proof at the Philadelphia Mint, this 1960 Franklin Half Dollar DDR-010 shows medium spread on UNITED and E PLURIBUS UNUM with light spread extending to HALF DOLLAR and the eagle. The dual-intensity spread — medium on the upper reverse lettering, lighter on the denomination and central device — indicates the hub displacement affected the upper die face more strongly, attenuating toward the lower portion. Die markers UVC-151 and DMR-018 anchor the attribution within the VarietyVista system. Three die stages are documented: Stage A at Early Die State remains unconfirmed, Stage B shows both reverse and obverse reaching Mid Die State, and Stage C at Late Die State is also unconfirmed.
