Description
The 1960 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1960 Proof Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: Obverse: Die gouge (dot) in depressed area to right of Jefferson's eye. Reverse: Die scratch ESE from upper long left window; vertical die gouge just to upper left of long left window; horizontal die scratch at top of left arch; short die scratch SW from bottom of F of FIVE.
