Description
An extra eyelid can be found SE of the main eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Two strong, parallel die scratches run NE from the top of the Y in LIBERTY. A die scratch runs NE from the top of the 5 in the date. Numerous die scratches run SW to NE in front of and behind the bust. Abrasion doubling runs along the front of the neck and bowtie. Obverse Stage B: The die scratch from the top of the 5 is very weak. The top of the 9 is filled with a die chip. A die crack runs NW then west from the eyebrow. Reverse Stage A: A short, strong die scratch runs SSW from the top of the L in PLURIBUS. The upper right N of CENT is distorted from abrasions to remove die clash marks. A long die scratch runs SW from the E of E PLURIBUS UNUM to the top left of the C in CENT. A strong die scratch runs SE from the bottom of the 2nd U in UNUM to the top of the right wheat ear. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die scratches are gone. A short, curving die gouge can be found below the M in UNUM. A die scratch runs SE to NW above the 2nd T of STATES.
