Description

Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1956 1¢ WDDO-008. A close spread towards the center shows on IGWT. A die gouge can be found below the five in the date. A strong die scratch runs NNE from the upper chin. Nearly horizontal die scratches can be found north of the one in the date. Numerous heavy die cracks run throughout the hair. Obverse Stage B: A new obverse die has been introduced which is not a doubled die. A strong die clash mark can be found at the front of the throat. Reverse Stage A: A small die gouge touches the bottom center of the diagonal bar of the N in ONE. A small die gouge touches the upper center of the diagonal bar of the N in CENT. Numerous die scratches run from NNW to SSE through the letters in CENT. A large die chip can be found on the lower T in CENT. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die markers are weaker, but many are still visible. Obverse Stage A:
