1955 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-1955S-01

Description

ADC-1c-1955S-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1955-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, and it is a tilted die clash. Most tilted clashes MDC knows of are on 1960 Small Date Lincoln cents, though tilted clashes from other dates have been submitted since this die was listed. The only mark from this event is a line through URIBUS in PLURIBUS. A small cleft drops from that line toward the lower loop of the B; it was made by a fold in Lincoln's coat and gives a reference point for how the dies were positioned when they met. No matching clash appears on the obverse, which may mean the obverse die was replaced with a new one. Two die cracks, one on each wheat ear, identify this clash event.
