1955 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-012

Description

1955 WDDR-012 is a doubled die reverse on the 1955 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. E PLURIBUS UNUM, both dots, and both wheat ears and stems are spread toward the center. On the obverse, an abraded clash mark shows at the throat, and a crack crosses the left side of the bust's base. On the reverse, a scratch heads SW from the top of PLURIBUS' L; a gouge sits above the right side of CENT's N and another inside the lower part of AMERICA's E; and many scratches, running N-S or SSW-NNE, cover the reverse. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
