1955 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

1955 WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1955 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong extra thickness shows on E PLURIBUS UNUM, on the dots, and on both wheat ears and both stems. The obverse is itself a doubled die, which Wexler's doubled die files number 1955 1¢ WDDO-004; the date and IN GOD WE TRUST show moderate extra thickness, and a short horizontal gouge sits north of LIBERTY's BE. On the reverse, a scratch heads SSW from the lower left of UNITED's N. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Coppercoins lists it as 1955P-1DR-001. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
