1952 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-1952S-01

Description

ADC-1c-1952S-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1952-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, involving a tilted die. Tilted clashes had already turned up on wheat cents as a bar-shaped mark across E PLURIBUS UNUM (examples are ADC-1c-1928-01 and, from 1954, ADC-1c-1954S-01), and MDC reports this as the first to show the tilted clash at the opposite pole. One mark, below the letters OD in GOD, was made by the field around the stem of the wheat ear. The other, below OF AMERICA, came from the top of Lincoln's head. Ray Parkhurst owns the coin.
