Light spread on OF AMERICA defines this 1948-S Washington Silver Quarter doubled die reverse, the third cataloged DDR for this San Francisco date. Die tracking carries UVC-0680 and DMR-004. Three die stages document the progression: Stage A represents the early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B reached mid-die state with two die scratches connecting the lower D and S of UNITED STATES and the obverse at MDS, and Stage C entered late die state (unconfirmed).
