Description

TDC-50c-1946-01 This clash event is only present on the reverse die of this 1946-P Walking Liberty half dollar. The curl of flag under Liberty’s outstretched arm is the strongest component of this clash. The bottom of the flag can be seen clashed into the field between the second feather down over to the leaves in the olive branch. A portion of the top of the flag can be seen clashed under the last bottom feather over to the eagle’s leg. This die clash event is not the best anomaly on this coin though. The obverse die is a doubled die and listed as FS-5–1946-101. The doubling is seen in the image to the right as an extra fold in Liberty’s sleeve and out edge of that sleeve.
